Elegant and regal, irises have long captured imaginations—no wonder the iris-inspired fleur-de-lis became a national symbol of France in the 12th century! Whether you’re arranging tall stems for a floor vase or creating a compact bouquet for your table, irises make a stunning display.

Picking Tip:
As tempting as it is to cut stems with multiple open blooms, we recommend selecting stems with just one open flower. Fully open blooms tend to wilt quickly—often before you even get home! Once in the vase, remove wilted flowers daily and let the rest open naturally. Your bouquet will last longer and look fresher.

Peonies
Lush, romantic, and undeniably beautiful—peonies have enchanted people for centuries. According to myth, the nymph Paeonia caught the eye of Apollo, which angered Aphrodite so much she turned her into a peony. That story might explain the flower’s association with misfortune in Victorian times.

Fortunately, modern taste has rediscovered their charm—peonies are now some of the most beloved flowers of all. In fact, we hear customers asking for them as early as March, even during daffodil season!

Peony Care Tips:

Pick early in the day, when the flower is just beginning to open.

If cutting a budded stem, make sure at least one bud shows petal color and feels soft—like a marshmallow.

Place stems in a bucket of lukewarm water and trim them underwater at an angle.

Display away from sunlight and drafts.

Remove wilted blooms daily and recut stems to encourage more to open.

Hours & Atmosphere:
Our flower field is open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM. If you're into photography, visit near sunset—the light is magical. Also, don’t miss our vibrant crimson clover field, visible from the iris rows.
